Southside Johnny And The Poor Fools Added To January 14 Show At Asbury Park’s Paramount Theatre; Main Event Of Four-Day Light of Day Weekend
Southside Johnny and the Poor Fools have been added to the line-up for a show Saturday night, Jan. 14 at Asbury Park's Paramount Theatre which will serve as the main event of the four-day Light of Day weekend. Southside Johnny Lyon and the Poor Fools play an electic mixture of music that represents Southside's version of the Great American Songbook. At a Poor Fools show you can expect to hear stripped-down versions of music by Bob Dylan, Muddy Waters, NRBQ, Richard Thompson, Emmylou Harris, The Band, George Jones, Mose Allison and more. The Poor Fools, including Jeff Kazee, John Conte, Tommy Byrnes and Soozie Tyrell, will also be tackling some reworked versions of Asbury Jukes classics.
Punk-Rock Supergroup Manitoba Makes Their Debut At Asbury Lanes As Part Of Light Of Day's Four-Day Weekend Of Events In Asbury Park; Hosted By Rich Russo
Punk-rock supergroup Manitoba will make their debut on Friday, January 13th at Asbury Lanes as part of the Light of Day Foundation's four-day weekend of events in Asbury Park to raise money for the fight against Parkinson's disease. The show will be hosted by disc jockey Rich Russo, whose free-form radio show, "Anything Anything," can be heard on Sunday nights in northern New Jersey on 105.5 WDHA-FM and in Westchester County on 107.1 The Peak FM. Asbury Lanes is located at 209 Fourth Avenue in Asbury Park.

Roots music legend David Bromberg will be among the performers at at Paramount Theatre show on Jan. 14, 2011, that serves as the centerpiece for the 12th annual Light of Day concert series, now expanded to four-day weekend of activities in Asbury Park, NJ. More than 100 artists will play at at least 16 different events to be held at nine different venues in the city on Jan. 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 2012, which promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Light of Day Board Member Takes The Fight Against Parkinson's To The Streets
In December 2008, Light of Day board member Ken Reichel felt the need to do more for LOD. Ken was 47 at the time and had just completed the New York Marathon, running for his office's charity team and he jumped on an idea - doing fifty marathons by age fifty and raising $50,000 for LOD in the process.
Light of Day Team Helps The 15th Parkinson's Unity Walk Raise Over $1.4 Million
On Saturday, April 25, the Parkinson's disease community came out in full force in New York's Central Park. Over 10,000 walkers participated in a day of camaraderie, awareness and education. The Light of Day Team was one of over 400 teams joining together to fight Parkinson's disease. The Light of Day Team is proud to have raised over $23,000 to date and rank as the #5 team in fundraising.
Light of Day Benefit Concert Raises Over $10,000 For Parkinson's Disease
On November 14, 2008 the 2nd Annual Light of Day Niagara Benefit Concert for Parkinson's victims was held at the Greg Frewin Theatre. The three-hour event was a great success and raised over $10,000 for Parkinson's Canada and for the Light of Day Foundation supporting Parkinson's Research.
2008 Parkinson's Unity Walk
The Light of Day Team joined over 400 other teams with over 10,000 members for the 14th Parkinson's Unity Walk in Central Park. The Walk took place on Saturday, April 26 in New York's Central Park.
