Springsteen and faithful fight Parkinson's at Light of Day
There was a little faith and magic in the night Saturday at the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park.
It was the Light of Day main event, the annual highlight of the week-long festival that fights Parkinson’s disease. Bruce Springsteen, a frequent unannounced performer, played for nearly two hours with Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers and assorted guests, including David Bryan of Bon Jovi.
It was classic freewheeling Springsteen, who delivered rarities such as “Save My Love” and “Hearts of Stone,” classics including “Darkness on the Edge of Town” and “Because the Night” and a new song, “Frankie Fell in Love” from “High Hopes,” which delivered quite a bit of pep live. Expect to hear it in upcoming shows.
