Replicating the music of The Band is a tall order. But interpreting the music of The Band is an art. Songs that have reverberated across history for decades continue to speak to millions of us. And THE WEIGHT, a five-piece ensemble featuring Jim Weider and Randy Ciarlante from The Band, Brian Mitchell and Byron Isaacs of the Levon Helm Band and Marty Grebb, who worked with Rick Danko and Richard Manuel of The Band, remains a vehicle through which we can continue to share those stories and dance to those back beats. Make no mistake; this is no tribute act. This is the most authentic presentation of The Band that the world is ever gonna get. Come and take a load off, and prepare for an unforgettable performance.

Jim Weider (VOCALS / GUITAR)
Thirty years ago, Jim replaced Robbie Robertson as lead guitarist, singer and songwriter for THE BAND. Featured on Jericho, Jubilation, and High On The Hog albums, Jim toured with the group right up until the end and appeared in numerous BAND performance videos and documentary segments.

Randy Ciarlante (VOCALS / DRUMS)
Personally recruited by Levon Helm, Randy shared THE BAND’s vocal and drumming duties alongside Levon. He toured with the group for more than ten years, was featured on Jericho, Jubilation, and High On The Hog albums and also appeared in many of THE BAND’s live performance videos and archival footage.

Brian Mitchell (VOCALS / PIANO / B3 / ACCORDION / HARMONICA)
As a member of THE LEVON HELM BAND, Brian played piano, organ and accordion as well as contributing to vocals. He now fills those same roles within THE WEIGHT. Highly regarded within the music industry as the consummate musician, Brian has performed with Bob Dylan, Al Green, BB King and countless others.
Byron Isaacs (VOCALS / BASS)
Byron plays bass and shares vocal duties as a member of THE WEIGHT. He filled those same shoes in Levon’s MIDNIGHT RAMBLE BAND, plus writing songs that appeared on the Grammy-Winning CDs, Dirt Farmer and Electric Dirt. As a side note, Byron has performed with Joan Baez, Willie Nelson, Elvis Costello, Sheryl Crow and Donald Fagen - to name just a few, as well as having produced, performed on and contributed songs to Amy Helm’s new CD, Didn’t It Rain.
Marty Grebb: (VOCALS / B3 / PIANO / ACCORDION / SAXOPHONE)
A talented multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter, Marty’s connection to THE BAND runs deep. He wrote and recorded on Jericho and performing on Jericho and Jubilation albums, as well as having worked on Rick Danko and Garth Hudson projects. Like the other members of THE WEIGHT, Marty has toured with many great artists, including Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, and Gregg Allman, just to name a few.
