Axelrod Performing Arts Center Event Supports Aaron Lazar

Axelrod Performing Arts Center Event Supports Aaron Lazar

On August 31th, Light of Day provided a $5,000 grant in support of Extraordinary: Broadway Sings for Aaron Lazar, presented through the Axelrod Performing Arts Center. Tony nominees Kate Baldwin (Hello, Dolly, Finian's Rainbow) and Michael Minarik hosted the event, directed by Hunter Foster with music direction by Nate Patten, and produced by Andrew DePrisco.

Aaron Lazar is an acclaimed Broadway, television, and film actor with more than two decades of starring roles on stage and screen, Lazar is also a Grammy-nominated singer and a rising thought leader whose work now bridges entertainment, resilience, science, and spirituality. In 2021, Lazar’s life was upended when he was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).

The event raised $50,000 and counting to help with Aaron Lazar’s medical expenses. You can also support Aaron in his fight against ALS on his Go Fund Me page.

We were proud to be part of an evening that brought people together through music for such a meaningful cause.
